Here we are at 38 weeks. I wasn't going to post my belly picture
but after Jared decided to pose I had to put these on.
Not sure what face he's trying to pull.
Got checked today & I'm dilated to a 2 & 80% effaced.
All I can say is I'm tired & excited.

Final days

I haven't updated my blog lately because I haven't taken many pictures & our days have been working, baby shopping, showers, & salsa making. We're trying to take advantage of getting things done before we have a little one to take care of.
These are all pictures of people I work with. The girls had a shower for me at Old Spaghetti Factory and here are the Dr.'s I work for.

I really don't like football but I agreed to go to this game with Jared against the Aggies. Jared took two pictures & I was planning on getting a picture of us to prove I went but forgot.

We have "team days" at work during the fall/winter & the first one usually begins with a talk about the BYU football players & coach since our doctors LOVE BYU. This year we hiked the "Y" and the Doctors talked about the f-ball team's experiences up there. It was my first time doing that hike & unfortunately I was starting to get a cold so I was a bit miserable & spent the rest of the weekend getting over the nasty cold. Fun experience still!

Aunt Janet

My darling Aunt Janet is now at rest after a battle with cancer & other illness. A month ago she gave me this painting she did of Lucy & I love it! She adopted Lucy cat when she was a kitten & raised her for about 11 years then became terribly allergic & had to give her away. I love cats so I was excited when I got a phone call asking if we could take her. We've had her over a year now & even Jared has learned to love Lucy.
I'm lucky to have 3 of her many amazing paintings in our home to remember her every day. She will be very missed.

Huckleberry picking with Aunt Trudy. We don't see her often since she lives in Alaska so we enjoyed these few days of having her here.

I can't let a year pass by without getting some huckleberries.

Washington

We went to Washington with my family in August & had quite an adventure. We golfed early one morning & it was pretty cold to start with but I love feeling like we're the only ones on the course.

Then we left for a long day in Seattle. Started out eating lunch at Ivar's. Most everyone did the underground tour & Jared said it wasn't too exciting so he took pictures so I'll never have to do it.
My mom hesitantly feeding the seagull :)

After I flew home with my parents & brother, Jared, Casey, Mel, & Wyatt enjoyed a ride on Puget Sound with Jared's parents. They had just flown in that day & were very nice to take them on the boat.

Wyatt was so good through the whole trip. Here he is on one of many car rides. I stuck the camera in front of him to get his cute giraffe he tucked under his chin & I heard a "cheese" .....so cute

Then a little while later he was out.

Wyatt loves to give his dog a "pat" & does the same to these goats.........even the log.

Before's & After's of J Jr's room

Here's an old dresser of Jared's we've had since we got married. (I only got the drawers in this picture but you get the idea.)

And here it is now!

I didn't get a before of the closet but Jared tore it out & built a new one with the dresser in it.

We experimented doing this wall & it turned out pretty cute.

We had Megan & my mom help us with the wall which was GREAT!!
The finished product.

The crib arrived early & Jared was pretty excited to put it together at first, until it started getting late.

We put the bedding in & I knew the bumpers needed a bit less cushion to open up space on the mattress & to not be a suffocation hazard. So......

We found some foam & cut it to size & made the perfect size bumpers.

I can't believe it's done, other than decorations. About 2 1/2 months before we put this room to good use.

BUGS!

Just an idea of some of the bugs we get to see here. We have TONS of praying mantids which is fun. I always wondered if they ate any of the million grasshoppers we have & found my answer. This guy had just finished the head & was still munching away.

We get a lot of nasty huge spiders so Jared has some strong bug spray & one day I found all of these out front on our sidewalk.....DEAD!

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, THE SPIDER OF ALL SPIDERS. This one was found today by our renter & yes it was dead. I took a picture of the bottom of him too so you could see how long his legs are. I'm not obsessed with bugs but I guess a little fascinated. I hope this doesn't keep anyone from wanting to visit.

Fun at the lake

Jared took us to the middle of the lake & we swam until our feet started to look like this.

Hope we can swim some more before the cold weather comes!

Having fun......without Jared

I had last week off & Jared started his new job so I went to Paris & had some fun. The first day Andrea, Meg, Aus, & I camped at Paris Campground. We walked to the spring, & roasted hotdogs with everyone.

We are anything but light packers, even for a one night stay.

After we got home from camping we got up the energy to hike Paris Peak. The first part of the hike you can take a 4 wheeler so we didn't hike all of the first part which was nice.

Snow!
Not sure if Wyatt is the youngest person to be on Paris Peak but we can pretend.
Here they are looking through the jar where people can write their name & the date they were there. We found the paper of when I went with Casey & his friends July 5 2001, I think it was?
Jared has wanted to do this hike for a long time. Sad he wasn't there.

The next day we relaxed at the lake!

LOTS o' Lavender

I love lavender days & this year we got to enjoy it with Andrea, Megs, Brady & mom! We started the day with the 5k run/walk through the lavender. As you can see we were far from the beginning of the line.

Mom & I walked & everyone else ran.

This year the lavender was in full bloom & very purple. SO BEAUTIFUL!

Here is Clary sage with the lavender behind.

We did the U-pick & Meg decided to pick some extra for her shoes :)

We got to make wreaths again & we were so lucky to have the perfect weather with the cloud cover. A full day of fun on very little sleep but glad we did it.

Growing so fast!

Here he is, our little boy growing so fast. November will be here before we know it.

We had an ultrasound at 6, 8, & 10 weeks & were amazed at how much bigger he was each time. This picture is at 6 weeks.
Here are the 3 men that made it possible. I know, weird to think about but very grateful for their skill! Jared was great about giving my daily injections, & for coming to Vegas with me so I could attend my work conference but still have my necessary ultrasound. What a man :)

SEATTLE IN JUNE!

Several years ago we (all the friends) started planning a trip for the boys' 10 year HS reunion. The trip ended up being in Seattle & Jared's parents were nice to let us stay at their WA house. Jared & I got there a few days before to clean gutters, wash windows, & go for a ride on "old friend" with an interested buyer of the Fairliner. It's always fun to go out on Puget Sound & luckily enough the guy we went with new a lot about what we saw since he was from Tacoma.

Below is an OLD ferry.

A view of our favorite restaurant, The Ram, from the boat.

We always attempt to go to the Seattle Temple but it's usually closed for cleaning the month we go. This time we made it! I loved these trees below!

Also what cool flowers!

We had a race on the canoe & timed each other. It was fun, then a few days later Jeff & Jared tried to beat the best time & ended up tipping the canoe over! Wish I had it on video.

We were able to golf on our favorite course that is just a boat ride away. I have to say that I played the best I've played in awhile & it was my first time out this year! We couldn't have asked for better weather!

Jared's FAVORITE thing to do is go dive for golf balls. He always finds someone willing to go along even though they go early when the water is still chilly.

I figured I had better wakeboard before the belly gets bigger. I was super careful but still enjoyed it!

Geoff, Jeff, & Jared each spent 10 minutes in the water trying to take the wakeboard off once they were done. Lindsay & I laughed our heads off at them! You can't see it but Jeff's skin is purple. (Sign of hypothermia?)

We love going to Mariners games!

We had awesome seats in left field on the top bleacher.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT: We kept waiting for them to play Ken Griffey Jr. Finally toward the end of the game we see him in black & white up on the jumbotron (sp?) warming up to bat. They had awesome intense music & great angles of him. It was something you see in a movie. He gets up to bat & hits a homer with the first pitch. Good thing we had lots of room to celebrate!

LOW POINT OF THE NIGHT :

Chelsea was brave enough to dance in front of these crazy guys. She gets past Jeff's arm but.......

doesn't quite make it past crazy Jared. Yep he punched her in the eye :(

They danced throughout the whole game whenever music would come on hoping to grab the camera man's attention. No luck. Jared did make it on the jumbo tron in another way, however.

Starting off our day in Seattle. Lots of walking but worth it for the free parking!

Our last day when only 6 of us were left we went to another Mariners game. Bought crappy but decent priced tickets & ended up with Great seats in right field by Ichiro! As you can tell by the fans filling the whole section up.

GO ICHIRO!

Anyone ready to go back? We only had a little bit of rain & fairly warm weather! It was a great week & worth the long drive. Thanks to everyone who made it & for making such a fun memory!!

Task (for Andrea)

This post will only make sense to a few, so ignore it otherwise.
We watered our plants (we only have outdoor plants)

I planted my new perennials (or perannuals, right mom?). Some of them are transplanted so they may not make it long but I'm crossing my fingers.
Jared pulled the weeds. The best time to pull weeds is in the rain!
We had fun & the weather was great. Not too cold & Jared's new fence smelled good being wet.

St. George

Jared had his first triathlon of the year at Sand Hollow. They canceled the swim again because of the wind so they ran, biked, ran. This year his friends, Geoff & Ryan, did it too. It's more fun when you have more than one person to watch for.

And he finished!

Casey, Melanie, & Wyatt came too which made the trip even more fun. We couldn't wait for Jared to be done so we could go swimming! While Jared slept in the shade we swam for many hours.

He's quite the little fish!
Such a cute boy!

We ate dinner then tried to walk it off at the Temple.

Wyatt climbed all the way up the stairs. Good thing Jared still had energy to follow because we were exhausted from a long day.

We had one last stop before heading home. We had it to ourselves most of the time then interesting people came so after awhile we left to eat our picnic.

I thought this picture would look cool with our chacos. Wyatt needs a pair!
Thanks for coming with us! It made the trip so FUN!
